Shumet joined Melafrica in 2023 as a Co-founder and member of the Executive Leadership Team. Shumet is a drug development leader in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC). He brings many years of industry experience in both big and small Pharma CMC activities at all phases of drug development from preclinical through clinical to commercial. In his career, Shumet has been highly involved in and led CMC teams responsible for successful approval and commercial launch of several drug products to market. Shumet earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Connecticut, and M.Sc. in Pharmaceutics and B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University.
